The Cote d’Ivoire football team, known as the Elephants, is gearing up for a rematch against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final on Sunday, February 11.
After losing to Nigeria in the group stage, they’re planning a different approach for the final showdown.
Despite hosting the tournament, Cote d’Ivoire faced a rocky start, barely making it out of the group stage. They sacked their coach, Jean-Louis Gasset, and appointed Emerse Fae as caretaker coach. Since then, they’ve been on a winning streak, defeating Senegal, Mali, and DR Congo in the knockout stages.
Now, facing Nigeria again in the final, Coach Fae knows they need to strategize. Despite their previous encounter, they plan to analyse Nigeria’s game and implement a new strategy for the final match. This final showdown will be a chance for Coach Fae to make a name for himself in coaching by leading his team to victory against the unbeaten Nigerian side.
