On Monday, students at Adamawa State Polytechnic expressed outrage over the alleged theft of private parts from six male students.
According to witnesses, two unidentified individuals visited the polytechnic and shook hands with the students, resulting in the affected students’ private parts shrinking to the size of a matchstick.
The witnesses reported that upon learning of the incident, other students swiftly gathered, with the intention of confronting the strangers and potentially demanding the reversal of whatever had been done.
However, security agents intervened to prevent the students from engaging in vigilantism.
As per a source, “The students became agitated because the police and polytechnic authorities restrained them from lynching the suspected thieves of private parts.”
In protest, the students barricaded Galadima Aminu Way in Jimeta, a prominent road that runs alongside the polytechnic’s main campus.
A joint effort by security personnel, including the military, police, and civil defense, was required to bring the situation under control.
The spokesperson for the polytechnic, Albert Matilah, confirmed that the incident occurred in the morning hours.
Matilah explained, “We were confronted with this unfortunate situation: There were rumors circulating that criminals specializing in snatching individuals’ private parts were present in town. This morning, six of our students reported that their private parts had disappeared.”
He further stated that the perpetrators had been apprehended and handed over to the police.
